Shamrock FC: Shockwave - Event Preview

By Brett Auten | Knuckle Junkies

The charismatic and always-entertaining Adam Cella headlines Saturday's Shamrock FC: Shockwave.

SFC returns to the Lumiere Casino with a four-fight pro main card and a solid amateur undercard.

For Cella (5-2), this will be his first fight since a memorable clash with Lucas Gwaltney in March at Shamrock FC: Victory. A bout that people are still talking about will surely be considered for the Fight of the Year.

Cella will meet Anthony Lemon in the evening's main event. This is Cella's third fight since getting a brief run at the UFC in April of 2013 following his stint on The Ultimate Fighter. Lemon, who fought for Bellator this year, has lost seven of his last eight including at September's "Nemesis".

Cella said in an interview that anywhere the fight goes he expects to win it.

"Lemon just fought a training partner of mine Kevin Engel and was submitted by triangle," Cella said. "I'm expecting him to come out hard, aggressive and look for a takedown, he will probably looking to end this quickly but I don't mind making a short night for him. I want to get back to the top level, I'm a realist, and do I ever see myself winning a world title? No. Like I've said all along this is just fun. But now I'm taking this a bit more serious, kinda getting a taste for what you can do for a few years of your life is kinda cool. So my plan is to take it more serious that I have in the past and really give it a shot, 2015 look out.

Up-and-comer and Shamrock vet Tyler Clausen will face Willie Rose in the co-main event. Claussen has been splitting time with the guys at the Kennel Club in Springfield, and with the group at Finney's MMA. Claussen evened his profession record to 1-1 in June with a win over Corey Barreiro.

Finney's MMA powerhouse Ryan Sutton returns to the cage against Jordan Mitchell. Sutton has won two straight to even out his record. All of Sutton's victories have come via submission and all have his losses have been by TKO. Sutton has made quick work in his last two outings, tallying a total of 62 seconds of cage time.

Mitchell (3-4) was in the SFC cage this summer against Booker DeRousse where he lost the fight due to disqualification. Mitchell dropped two illegal elbows to the back of the head in the first round of that bout.

Rounding out the main card will be flyweights Will Afaro from Destruction of MMA battling against ground specialist Ben Chesser.

The undercard will feature eight bouts and will showcase a handful of fighter's from Finney's Hit Squad in Granite City.

Bob Hinchcliffe faces Jobe Washington in the featured bout of the undercard. Another bout worthy of note is the always-improving Fred Freeman against Scott Ettling.

SFC: Shockwave will be another sell out for Shamrock,
