Shamrock FC: Blitzkrieg - Preview

Shamrock FC pops the cork on its 2016 St. Louis season at the Lumiere Casino on January 30th.

On paper, SFC: Blitzkrieg looks like one of the top cards ever housed at the venue since SFC started putting on shows there in January, 2012. Shamrock FC typically stages its blockbuster cards at the River City Casino, but this one has a little River City feel to it.

Yohance Flager is surfing a wave of confidence and the 40-year-old is putting together some of the best rounds of his career. Flager improved to 8-7 with a submission win over Matt Murphy at SFC: Ultimate in December. He will welcome Malcom Smith (4-4) back to action in the main event. Smith lost a split decision to CJ Hunter in March.

There is plenty of truth behind the hype of Julius Anglickas as he makes his pro debut. Anglickas is part of the St. Charles MMA "Version 3.0 crew" and has miles of upside. He makes a rugged step into the pros when faces Eric Crittendon. Crittendon has tallied 12 pro fights going 5-7 and already facing the likes of Ryan Sutton, Tom Baker, and Marc Godeker.

Enrique Watson (2-0) will return to action since his Bellator win over Kain Royer this past summer, he will face Michael Gaston. Gaston, out of Pedigo Submission Fighting in Mt. Vernon, IL, is 1-1 with both fights coming under the Shamrock umbrella.

Garrett Mueller vs Cort Wahle is your match-up. Mueller (2-0) is another coming of a Bellator win where he submitted AJ Siscoe. Wahle out of the War Room in Woodriver, IL will be making his pro debut after a short but meaningful amateur career where he showed flashes of brilliance that has local fans excited about his prospets.

The prelims mark the return of Dustin Fischer against Frank Cortez and the always-busy Sam Tamayo vs. Oscar Ahuatzi.

Shamrock FC is back at the Lumiere for XFN 6 and returns to the River City Casino on March 12th.
